What experience / qualifications do I need to work for PAS Medical Ltd as a medical secretary?
PAS Medical is an employment consultancy specialising in the recruitment of medical secretaries and clerks. You will need work experience and/or an appropriate qualification to start work as a medical secretary. If you don't have the experience/qualification you will need the commitment to undertake training to gain a formal qualification in medical secretarial studies. It may be possible to start work whilst completing the training.

What experience / qualifications do I need to work for PAS Medical Ltd as a medical clerk?
PAS Medical is a specialised employment business specialising in the recruitment of medical clerks. Ideally you will have work experience in a health care environment with experience of the PAS System. However there are some placements where knowledge of general filing and administration are the main requirements.

If I need to undertake the training can I start work as a medical secretary before I have completed the course?
This will depend on your experience, background and other qualifications. Please contact the office for further information.

How will I be paid?
Payment of wages is weekly in arrears. This means that you will be paid the following week after you have worked. PAS Medical deals with all your tax and NI contributions.

How do I register with PAS Medical?
You can register to work with PAS Medical either by contacting the office directly by telephone or email. Once we have your CV we will email you a registration form before we arrange a time which is mutually convenient to give you the opportunity to find out more about us face to face and so that we can fully understand your employment needs.

What information do I need to provide to register with PAS Medical?
You will be asked to provide a CV when you meet with us, unless you have provided a CV by e-mail.

In accordance with the Employment and Business Acts 2003 we are required to check the identity of all candidates registering with us. You will therefore need to provide the following:
  • Passport / Driving Licence / Birth Certificate
  • NI Number
As a prospective employee of PAS Medical you will need to provide two recent passport size photographs of yourself.

It is advisable to bring any certificates you may have which will support your application for work. These will be copied for our records and the originals returned to you.

Am I eligible to work for PAS Medical?
This will depend on your experience, background and qualifications. In accordance with "section 8 Asylum update 1/5/04" we are obliged to check that you are eligible to work in the UK. You will need to provide documents to confirm this.

How soon do I start work with PAS Medical after registering?
Once we have established at interview your key needs and the type of work you are interested it is up to you when you start with PAS Medical.

Do I have to pay to register with PAS Medical?
No fee is payable to PAS Medical by employees or job seekers.

Can I apply for permanent jobs whilst I am employed by PAS Medical?
This is not a problem and we are more than happy to offer advice and support if you decide to look for permanent employment.

Is PAS Medical a recognised supplier to public bodies such as the NHS?
Yes! In the past 5 years, PAS Medical has successfully tendered for national framework agreements for supplying to the NHS and other government bodies. These include the NHS National Framework through the NHS Purchasing & Supply Agency (PASA) which is now superceeded by the current Buying Solutions Framework for Non-Medical & Non-Clinical Staff.
